Open Position - Program Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Description

We are looking for dynamic self-starter -- passionate about a better Puerto Rico --to join the ConPRmetidos team. You will lead the design, implementation, and operations of a new program for donor and audience database management.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop, implement and manage a new program to support the organization’s strategic direction and commitment to Puerto Rico.

  • You will help define and drive the execution of long-term goals.

  • You will develop a budget and operating plan for the program.

  • You will define and develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

  • You will write funding proposals and work with funders to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of the program’s services.

  • You will work in collaboration with ConPRmetidos board, staff and advisors in the design, execution, and analysis of the program.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing programs with strategic and technical complexity.

  • Proven skills in engaging with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven experience managing a team, including peers and external service providers.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Google Suite applications including Docs and Sheets.

Additional Qualifying Criteria

  • Proven, results-oriented doer.

  • Self-motivated and a proven self-learner, able to work independently on multiple tasks/projects with minimum supervision and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, and the ability to quickly learn new features and functions within these.

  • Practices open communications and sharp customer service with internal and external teammates and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates skills in creative thinking, teamwork, problem solving, decision-making and time management.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in both, Spanish and English.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to set and execute priorities in a competitive environment.

Open Position — Grants Management & Program Compliance Officer

Reports to: Director of Operations

Description

We are looking for a doer who is highly skilled, detail-oriented and passionate about making a difference in Puerto Rico. This person will provide pre and post-award support services and oversight to ConPRmetidos' grantees, prospective grantees, and nonprofit partners, in order to ensure compliance with all grant specific requirements.  This person will also be responsible for maintaining and managing the organzation's entire grant portfolio/files.

The Grants Management & Program Compliance Officer will serve as an informational resource and liaison for the management team, and board, in all fiscal, programmatic and grant compliance matters.  This position will report to the Director of Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Applicable experiences working in the government and/or nonprofit sectors in the following areas: administration, grants management, fundraising, legal, financial, and/or compliance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and  Spanish are strictly required.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision in a startup environment.

  • Availability to work full-time. 

  • Always abides by the three R’s rule: be respectful, resourceful and responsible.

Other Qualifying Criteria

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of nonprofit program and/or business operations.

  • A broad base of relevant technical knowledge and skills related to accounting, law, financial management, procurement systems, and fund accounting.

  • Some experience with federal/state grant and contract funding mechanisms. 

  • Some experience soliciting and managing private funding. 

  • Good research, data management, and statistical analysis skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

  • Sufficient flexibility and ability to travel throughout communities across Puerto Rico; including rural areas with poor infrastructure and road access.

  • Proven capacity to solve complex challenges with a positive attitude. 

  • Extremely organized and pays attention to detail.

  • Delivers quality work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Create internal controls and procedures to supervise and guarantee the organization is always in compliance with local, state and federal requirements. 

  • Create internal controls and procedures to meets all the compliance criteria required by foundations, corporations and other private donors. 

  • Work closely with the organization’s accounting and legal resources to prepare and/or review information and reports for all stakeholders.

  • Submit all the information requested from major donors (foundations, individuals and corporations) and funding government agencies in a responsible and timely manner.

  • Develop and implement procedures to meet organizational needs and objectives in the programmatic area.

  • Create work plans with timelines, paying close attention to deadlines, to assure ConPRmetidos meets internal goals. 

  • Assist in preparations for external monitoring visits, reviews, audits and cross-site evaluations, and participate as appropriate.

  • Establish and maintain electronic and hard copy files for each grant-funded project to be used for tracking and reporting purposes.

  • Conduct routine compliance reviews of grant programs.

  • Ensure recipient monitoring procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and are consistent with sound business practices.

  • Monitor recipient compliance with applicable regulations and the requirements of their agreements through site visits, audits, and other mechanisms applicable to monitoring. 

  • Recommend actions necessary to resolve issues/concerns.

  • Provide guidance in interpreting and executing applicable regulations, grant terms and conditions.

  • Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to prepare mid-year and year-end impact reports. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Communications Associate and the Executive Director to regularly provide the information necessary to communicate ConPRmetidos’ work, progress and ongoing impact. 

  • Prepare  reports for ConPRmetidos’ board, including the necessary documentation for program committee meetings.

  • Review grants and program-related correspondence and assure proper records are retained.

  • Assist with any other programmatic task required by the management team.
